The rooms
Welcome to “La Doloréanne” guesthouse, elegant & large home built in the 1920’s that inspires calm & charm.
Val de Saône is a dynamic region in the midst of a preserved countryside, situated at the foot of the Beaujolais mounts, and south Burgundy.
The house is only a few minutes’ walk to St Didier sur Chalaronne’s town center
Large grounds, centenary trees, a view on the countryside & a beautiful swimming pool will make this place your favourite halt, a quiet place from midday to midnight.
The rooms
The 4 rooms are on the first and second floors & are accessed by a private entrance.
They each have a bathroom & toilets ; private and secure parking space.
The breakfast
Breakfast is served in our dining room during winter & on the terrace by the swimming pool during the warmer season.
Generous & gourmet, we emphasize on organic & local food, with croissants & fresh bread, yoghurts, fruit juice, homemade jams ,garden eggs & cheeses from local farmers.
The garden
Tables & chairs are positioned around the garden harmoniously for picnics, under the trees, in the peace & quiet.
The pool’s sunbeds & the garden swing are an invitation to chill & relax.

Danielle,
A graduate in hospitality business, I specialized as a sommelier.
I come from Nice,but moved out here 8 years ago & it is pure happiness!
We have a preserved landscape, the countryside with its haystacks, local producers, forests to keep cool & look for mushrooms, the ponds & the rivers, the strolls along the SAône’s riverbank.
And yet we are not far from cities with a rich history & a cultural asset. I really wanted to combine quality of life & a professional project so here we are !
Stéphane, my companion
He has grown up in the area. He is a wine seller for “terre des templiers en Banyuls et Collioures” and the words generosity & sharing suit him the best.
We both have kept our childlike souls & we decided to open our house & garden’s cosiness also to share a certain view of the beautiful environment & a will to preserve Nature.
Our guidelines: organic, local, natural & French !
We chose “La Doloreanne “& our logo as a reference to Time.
Take time to share, play, have fun together.
Go back in time listening to one of our songs on the1950’s jukebox, for some of us bringing back childhood memories!…Hence our guestrooms’ names.
I would like to finish this little presentation with a sentence from Gabriel, our son’s book which hopefully will inspire you to come visit us:
“When we have a dream, we must fulfill it….otherwise we know what happens. We talk about it for days, then years, & one morning…we don’t talk about it anymore”
